Origins

Tai Yi Shen Shu traces its origins to the legendary Yellow Emperor (黄帝), who is said to have received the cosmic charts from the celestial deity Tai Yi — the Supreme Unity — the primordial star that governs all creation in ancient Chinese cosmology.
The system was formally codified during the Han Dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE), when imperial astronomers synthesized centuries of celestial observations into a rigorous mathematical framework linking astronomical cycles to terrestrial events.

Military & Imperial Applications
Zhuge Liang (诸葛亮), the legendary strategist of the Three Kingdoms period, is among the most celebrated practitioners of Tai Yi. His seemingly supernatural ability to predict weather, enemy movements, and battle outcomes is attributed to his mastery of the Three Styles.
Imperial courts maintained dedicated Tai Yi masters — the Tai Yi Ju (太乙局) — who advised emperors on the timing of military campaigns, diplomatic missions, and major state decisions.
